The word “success” has become such a buzzword. Everyone wants it, it’s what we all aspire to become in our individual field of choice. The real question is HOW to become successful. I believe that a path to the ever-elusive Land of Success can be found in our everyday focus.
A question that you may want to ask yourself everyday in your personal life, in your real estate business, in your professional career, and in whatever you are pursuing during your day is, “How do I measure success?” Is it by how many people you have spoken to? Is it if someone decides to buy something from you? Is it by how many ‘friends’ or followers, likes or shares, you have on a social media site? Did you do something that just made you feel good about yourself? What really defines a successful day for you? It’s a very personal question and every person’s answer is going to be different and entirely his own.
In real estate, for me, I think that a successful day is being able to go through all my steps, hitting all my daily goals. I put my social media posts up, I put up my blog, I contact my buyers, and so on. At the end of the day, activity breeds activity. Have you ever noticed that the more emails you send out, the more emails you get in return? Have you experienced the lull in email activity on Monday morning after not having sent out your emails the previous Friday? That’s essentially a Law of Attraction. You need to be mindful of that during your day. What are you going to use as a barometer or a gauge of your success? How are you going to make today successful? Only you can define that, but really give it some thought. What can I do today so that at the end of the day I can say, “I have had a successful day,”?
