Time Management for Real Estate Agents
It’s the New Year and what does that mean? Suddenly we all become obsessed with time. We list, we resolve, we prioritize. We become driven to plan and map out what on earth it is that we think we might want to accomplish with all of this “new” time ahead of us. “I need to make more time for this” or “I simply have no more time for that.” Is time (or lack of it) really the issue? We all have exactly the same number of hours in the day, days in the month, and months in the year, don’t we? So then why are some of us more productive in achieving certain goals than others? It would seem that time is not necessarily the issue.
The thing is, you do have the time. We all do. It’s what one is using their time on and for that varies radically from person to person. We might think we don’t have time for something or someone in the schedule, but the fact is, we are placing a value on that time. Some people and action items seem to have more value than others. Someone asks for a lunch with you and suddenly, it’s just too much and you haven’t the time. No, the time is there for you, it’s just that the value of whatever you think you might be doing otherwise at that time (which in most cases is a bunch of nothing), in your mind, is worth so much more than that lunch.
So, what is it are you really planning for this year? What value are you going to place within your time allotted? We all get the same amount. It’s what you do with it that will show where you have placed your greatest values.
