Congratulations to the Cleveland Cavaliers and to their fans for a unbelievable comeback to win the NBA Championship.
I wrote this story back in July of 2014. I am of the same opinion. LeBron to the Cavs is a feel good story in my opinion. A huge “I messed up and let me make it right” moment. There are many times we have dreams and we want some level of something new and different. For LeBron, it was about breaking free from his home town, the only town he had known, really, to find success.
A huge “I messed up and let me make it right” moment.Yes, there could have been success right in front of him had he been patient and had faith it would work out, but then you are always left with what if, what if he didn’t go to Miami, what if he didn’t see what the rest of world had to offer.
LeBron owed it to himself to go explore, to leave his comfort zone and see what else was out there. Never mind how he did it, never mind how the city felt when he left, he owed it to himself to go try to broaden himself as a person and reach for his dream. He is ultimately successful, but now realizing that his dream was not to reach the top on someone’s else’s terms, but to reach the top on his own terms where his heart is. He may get frustrated. He may not achieve the “new” ultimate goal, but he is going home to where his roots are, back to the team that drafted him, and back to the perfect set up and situation to be “King” of his Home Throne.
Hats off to you, LeBron! Love the decision, love your maturity as an athlete and a father to demonstrate risk, reward and loyalty all at the same time.
